Indoctrination

Indoctrination is a mainstay of any political system. The parties in power need to indoctrinate the people to believe in the system. This includes deprecating competing systems. Anarchism in particular is a whipping boy for of State-oriented systems precisely because is advocates against statist systems. While other systems are merely flavours of Statism, Anarchism is diametrically opposed to Statism.

Indoctrination includes debasing competing systems. Communism was the scourge of society. Its demise was inevitable, as it was not a sustainable model—at least it was not able to withstand the billions of dollars spend to overthrow it. Even so, Communism was never well-executed in the Russian model. This was Statist Communism, anathema to Communism.

Students in the United States are indoctrinated with the Democracy and a sense of Country, Nationalist leanings. Of course, a Republic is decidedly not a democracy. Once in office, there is little to no accountability of political representatives. The main recourse is that they can be voted out of office the next time around. For Senators, this means six years to wreak havoc and run roughshod over the people they are representing.

A prime example of this are evident when evaluating the course of the current so-called war in Iraq and against terrorism. Public sentiment has been calling for withdrawal for years, yet the public is told they don’t understand. This is Oligarchy—the privileged few— running amok.

Representative government does not work. There are too many issues to distill all of them down to a suitable candidate—and that presupposes a suitable candidate is even available to support.

True Democracy is akin to Anarchism, but it supports majority rule over individual freedom—Mob Rules. On the other hand. as Benjamin Franklin has been attributed to have said, “A Democracy will vote its rights way.” This is commentary on special interests impinging on the rights of individuals. Winston Churchill said, “Nobody pretends that democracy is perfect or at all wise. Indeed, it has been said that Democracy is the worst form of government except all those other forms that have been tried from time to time.” One problem is that is not inherently superior to those forms tried before. Another problem is that Churchill was not defending Democracy. He was defending a Parliamentary Republic. The Democracy claim is specious at best. In the West many are indoctrinated into believing Democracy is practised on some wide scale and is desirable. And while it may be desirable, it is certainly not widespread. Aside from small instances, the largest perhaps being an old fashioned New England town meeting, it is decidedly not practised and brushed aside as being quaint.

Another trick used in the indoctrination practise is to intentionally obfuscate the political system of Democracy with the economic system of Capitalist. This, despite the two systems are incompatible. This is where Republican control takes over and shields corporate interests. After all, these groups are by and large of the same class.
